There’s something ironic about the President of the Mile High Chapter taking office on April Fool’s Day.  When I look at the Chapter’s Charter and the list of 39 presidents who have preceded me, I see no fools in the mix.  As a matter of fact, I see the names of some of the most caring, dedicated and hardest working people I know.  I am honored to find myself in the company of those individuals.  I want to thank all of those who have come before, not only the Chapter’s presidents, but the hundreds of members who have volunteered their time to serve the Mile High Chapter.  I want to thank the incoming officers and directors who donate their time, efforts and even their hearts to this association.  These volunteers are true leaders.  If you’ve ever wondered how to maximize your membership in the ALA and the Mile High Chapter, I can’t encourage you enough to join a committee.  I joined my first committee in 2005 and it’s been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.  I’ve gained so much from my membership and have made many life-long mentors and friends.  Should you ever want to ask a question, meet in person or just chat on the phone or online, please don’t hesitate to contact me or any of our Board members.  We are here to serve you.
