T Steele began her legal career in 1984 with the Washington, D.C. law firm Howrey & Simon. After several years in the D.C. area, T returned to Denver and joined a small law firm in Lakewood. She recently joined the firm of Hale Friesen as their Chief Operating Officer.
After returning to Colorado, T immediately became involved in ALA. She feels the exceptional education, resources and networking opportunities make the association invaluable to legal professionals. She has been a member of ALA since 1996 and a member of the Board since 2001. T sat for the Certified Legal Managers' (CLM) exam and received her CLM accreditation in 2004. She served as Co-Chair and Chair of the Salary and Benefits Survey Committee for several years, and Chair of the By-Laws Committee. During her membership, T has volunteered her assistance on most of our committees. Most recently, she has participated on the Membership, Education, Professional Development and Vendor Relations Committees.
Born and raised in the northwestern Colorado sticks to a 5th generation ranching family, T is an avid horseperson and loves the mountains. She is happily married and reports that husband Rick is wonderfully supportive of the occasional insanity involved in our business. Together, T and Rick have two daughters, a son, two grandsons and two dogs. T happily reports that only the two dogs remain at home and neither has asked for the keys to the car.
